Hey there, Ryders!
I know I’ve been quiet for a while, and I apologize. I missed September’s Steamy and kind of fell off the face of the earth for a bit. Truth was, I just couldn’t write Tobias with a female; he’s gay, and no amount of me saying “It’s non-canon!” was convincing him to touch a woman. So. There’s that.
Otherwise, it’s been a stressful fall for me. Health issues, NaNoWriMo (that crazy time of year where we try to write a novel in a month), and having to say goodbye to my emotional support dog, Cooper, all conspired against me. Therapy is happening, and I finally feel like I’m getting back to where I need to be. Seriously. My therapist is a magical unicorn, and I’ve only seen her once, but the results are hard to argue with.
Mental health, y’all. Don’t neglect it.
Now that I’m finally managing to be productive again, I’d like to share my next project with you. It’s called Speechless, and it’s a dark contemporary romantic suspense. No paranormal this time around, but definitely all the wonderful dark things, with trigger warnings aplenty. It follows the story of Blaise, a woman kidnapped and forced into sex trafficking to save her sister, and a former SEAL whose mission it is to bring down the trafficking ring that led to his own sister’s death. Two people, motivated by family, finding each other in the worst scenario possible.
And guys. He can sing. *Fans self.*
My beta readers are fired up for this one so far, though I’m still very much in the writing process for it. I’ve set a release date of March 28th for it, and the cover is already done. We’re going all-out though, so stay tuned for a cover release party and ARC copy availability. It’s available for preorder now, or you can add it to your Goodreads shelf to keep track of it with your other TBRs.
